Join the Julian of Norwich book group for Lent

Friends of Julian of Norwich is running a weekly group for lent reflecting on this year’s book, At the Foot of the Cross with Julian of Norwich by Emma Pennington.

The group will meet online at 3pm on six Fridays during lent, starting February 16. Each Zoom session will be led by one of the people associated with Julian in and around Norwich, with the author hosting the final meeting.

Lent Book Group:
16 February: Margaret Mary McFadyen (with introductory video from the author)
23 February: The Rev Lorna Allies
1 March: The Rev Richard Stanton, Priest Director of the Julian Shrine
8 March: The Very Rev Andrew Braddock, Dean of Norwich Cathedral
15 March: Lesley Mitchell
22 March: The Rev Canon Emma Pennington

Pre-reading is required before the first session. The book is available from the Friends of Julian website.

“After receiving glowing appreciation from those that attended Emma's autumn retreat in Norwich a couple of years ago, we're so pleased to be able to invite you to mark your Lent with her book, At the Foot of the Cross with Julian of Norwich,” said Howard Green from the Friends of Julian

The Reverend Dr Emma Pennington is the Canon Missioner for Canterbury Cathedral and author of At the Foot of the Cross with Julian of Norwich.

She has a doctorate from the University of Oxford on the fourteenth century devotional writer Julian of Norwich. Her book, At the Foot of the Cross with Julian of Norwich, is a prayerful resource that enables you to linger on the wonder of the cross and seeks to bring to a popular readership a devotional engagement with Julian’s work.
