Connect Norwich groupConnect Norwich is new name for churches group

Connect Norwich is the new name for the Norwich inter-church group which has been known as Transforming Norwich for the past 18 years.

The name Transforming Norwich was adopted in June 2005 at the Churches Together in Greater Norwich Conference at Sprowston Manor. Over the past 18 years the role of the group has changed.

Rev Tim Yau, from the steering group, said: “Today we bring together local Christian church, ministry and organisational leaders and their teams, who are committed to developing relationships that reflect the love of God, across the Greater Norwich area, for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We also aim to provoke mission and provide a point of communication across churches in greater Norwich.”

Steering group member, Captain Debbie Pearson, from the Salvation Army Norwich, said: “We welcome everyone, value our unity and diversity, and try to connect leaders together, building relationships across different Christian groupings/organisations.”

“The new name reflects our current role and purpose and we welcome local Christian leaders who do not currently attend our meetings to come and give us a try – we would love to see you,” said Network Norfolk editor Keith Morris, also from the steering group.

The new name is reflected in the new website at www.connectnorwich.co.uk a partner of the Network Norfolk website, which was itself originally developed from an idea launched with the backing of Transforming Norwich in 2005.
