King’s Award celebration for King’s Lynn charity
Volunteers, staff and supporters came together last week to celebrate The Purfleet Trust receiving the King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
The event, held in the King’s Lynn Town Hall on
Wednesday March 26, saw volunteers, staff and supporters come together to officially accept the award from
The Lady Dannatt MBE, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk, on behalf of His Majesty The King.
Purfleet Chief Executive, Paula Hall, said: “I am so grateful to the whole team here at Purfleet and to all of our volunteers who embody the spirit of community and generosity. Without their hard work and unwavering dedication, our work over the past 31 years would not have been possible.”

The award, announced last November, was made in recognition of the exceptional work the Trust’s volunteers do for the benefit of vulnerable people and those experiencing homelessness in King’s Lynn.
The prestigious award is equivalent to an MBE. It is the highest honour a volunteer group can be given and is awarded for life.
Kieran Gamble from The Purfleet Trust said: “The event was a huge success, and we were over the moon to be able to celebrate the award with our dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters from around West Norfolk.
“We’d like to thank the phenomenal support from the businesses who supported the refreshments on the day, including Trinity Rotary Club, Sainsburys Hardwick, Tesco Hardwick, Booker King’s Lynn, Sandringham Apple Juice, and Bank House.”
Volunteer and supporter, Allan Bradley, said: “I’m so passionate about wanting people getting back to where they need to be and when I see someone succeed, and get back on the right track, I’m really happy. The staff, supporters and especially the volunteers make it all happen.”
