100-Mile Norfolk coastal path walk for charity
A YMCA Norfolk Ambassador has completed a 104-mile coastal challenge, raising over £20k for local young people.
72-year-old
Andrew Hadley, a passionate
YMCA Norfolk ambassador, has completed the 104-mile walk along the
Norfolk Coast Path, a challenge that has raised over
£20,000 to support vulnerable young people across the county.
The walk began on
Saturday June 1 at YMCA Norfolk’s Community Housing in King’s Lynn and concluded on
Wednesday June 11 in Hopton, marking the end of a physically and emotionally demanding journey through ever-changing terrain and weather conditions.

Speaking after the challenge, Andrew said: “It’s been one of the hardest things I’ve done, but absolutely worth every blister, downpour, and aching muscle. The support along the way has been incredible — and knowing that each mile was helping young people to rebuild their lives kept me going.”
Andrew’s surpassed his original fundraising target of £17,000 before he set off. With a new goal of £25,000, donations are still welcome and will help YMCA Norfolk continue its life-changing work supporting young people experiencing homelessness, hardship and isolation.
YMCA Norfolk is an independent charity, reliant on local support to continue its work. Every penny raised stays in Norfolk, funding vital services for young people in crisis.
