Youth director Hamish set to rock city cathedral

Former rock musician, and now youth services director, Hamish MacQueen will perform and share his journey of faith and music in a concert at St John's Cathedral in Norwich in July to raise funds to support youth pilgrimages and leadership.

Long-serving Director of Youth Services with the Catholic Diocese of East Anglia, Hamish is a passionate advocate for young people’s faith journeys and a familiar face at diocesan youth events and pilgrimages. But before he stepped into that role, Hamish was touring the UK and Europe full-time as a member of the Catholic rock band Revelation.

On Saturday July 19, Hamish will return to the stage — not just to perform, but to share his journey of faith and music through songs he has written over the past 30 years. This unique gig promises to be more than a concert; it will be a heartfelt reflection on a life shaped by music, mission, and ministry.

All profits from the evening will go directly towards supporting young people from the diocese. The funds will help cover the cost of pilgrimages and provide training opportunities for future young leaders — continuing Hamish’s legacy of empowering youth in the Church.

The event offers a wonderful chance to celebrate and support his ongoing ministry, while enjoying a night of uplifting and inspiring music.

The gig will take place from 7.30pm on Saturday 19 July in the Narthex, St John the Baptist Cathedral, Norwich. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so early booking is recommended.
