Norwich Christians to lead global peace course
Phil Gazley and Rev. Ian Fifield will facilitate the online course, enabling Christian leaders from across the world to learn about peace-building
Phil and Ian plan to run the Introduction to Christian Peacebuilding course this summer, to equip church leaders worldwide in peace-oriented theology, conflict transformation, and practical peacebuilding skills.
Phil Gazley is Program Director of Peace Catalyst Norwich and will be leading the course with Ian Fifield, Assistant Priest at St Stephen’s Church in Norwich.
The course will run between July 16 – August 20, 2025. Over six weeks, participants explore:
Shalom & God’s vision for peace
The Church’s peacebuilding vocation
An introduction to conflict transformation
Christian formation and discipleship for peace
Peacebuilding postures and practical skills
This group is tailored for church leaders (including pastors, vicars, priests, lead elders, and ministry trainees) who are curious about integrating their faith with peacebuilding and to lead similar conversations in their communities.
While rooted in Norwich, this group is open to church leaders worldwide, offering a unique opportunity to learn across cultural and denominational lines. Phil explains: “We hope to bring church leaders from different cultures and traditions to learn from one another regarding how we see peace in scripture and how we practice peacebuilding in our churches and communities. The goal is to grow in our understanding through connection that can lead to collaboration.”
