Hebron to Hebron 2Hebron to Hebron charity challenge underway

Emma and Clare from a local housing charity set off today from Hebron House in Norwich to Hebron in Northumberland to cover 312 miles to raise money to support women in crisis.

The challenge 'Hebron to Hebron 2' will see the duo cover over 300 Miles in five days with no money, solely relying on the goodwill of strangers.  They set off from Harford Bridge Tesco today (June 30) at 10am to start their extraordinary journey from Hebron in Norwich to Hebron in Northumberland, walking the east coast to raise awareness and funds for women fleeing domestic abuse, recovering from addiction, or facing mental health challenges.

This five-day challenge, Hebron to Hebron 2, follows the success of the original walk and sees Emma (CEO of Hebron Housing) and Clare (Supported Housing Officer) make stops in:

  • Skegness – Monday 30th June
  • Hull – Tuesday 1st July
  • Scarborough – Wednesday 2nd July
  • Hartlepool – Thursday 3rd July
  • Morpeth – Friday 4th July

The walk will end with a special welcome evening hosted by Mitford Church, where Emma and Clare will share the story of Hebron’s work before returning to Norwich on Saturday.

Each night’s accommodation has been privately donated by generous supporters, and every hotel along the way has donated breakfast — a vital reminder of the importance of nourishment and dignity for women starting over.

“Ten years ago, I was starting my own recovery journey,” says Clare, who now helps other women do the same. “Walking this route is about gratitude, but also action — so other women have the same chance I did.”

Emma, who has led Hebron Housing for over a decade, has helped hundreds of women find safety and stability. Together, she and Clare are travelling over 300 miles with no food, no money and no transport to raise both vital funds and public understanding. Emma said, "Every woman deserves a second chance — whether she’s escaping domestic violence, struggling with addiction, or navigating mental health battles. This walk is a show of strength for all of them.”

The team is inviting the public to follow the journey, donate, and help spread the word via their campaign and social media pages:
