Presentation as Norfolk churches bike ride nears

As preparations gear up for the 2025 Norfolk Churches Trust bike ride, walk and drive charity event on September 13, a special presentation took place at King's Lynn Minster to celebrate achievements in the 2024 event.

Patrick Lines, the High Sheriff of Norfolk, awarded the Lord-Lieutenant's Certificate to the Rev Canon Dr Mark Dimond for raising £1,923.20 for St Margaret's, King's Lynn Minster. The certificate was signed by the Lady Dannatt MBE, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk.

The most improved fundraising church, St Mary the Virgin in Hillington, received a cheque for £1,000 after raising £1,651.

Dr Mary Nichols, church warden, said: "I’d like to express my huge gratitude to Norfolk Churches Trust for the award. It has boosted our finances and our spirits at a time when we are facing tremendous challenges as we consider the future of St Mary’s church building."

The church is currently closed after plasterwork fell from the ceiling in January.

The 2025 bike ride, walk and drive charity event is just two weeks away, scheduled for Saturday September 13.

Those interested in supporting can register on the Norfolk Churches Trust website or email for more information.
