North Norfolk church welcomes new team leader
Beacon Community Church was packed to the rafters last Sunday for the first service with a new Team Leader. Peter Bending reports.
On
Sunday September 7,
Beacon Community Church in
Bacton celebrated the start of a new chapter with
Daniel Ward joining them as Team Leader.
Daniel had been helping the church in Bacton and visiting since lockdown alongside his role on the leadership team at Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham. Others from Lighthouse have been helping with tech, finances, and music.
Recently, he had felt God calling him to be involved more consistently and Sunday saw his first official day as the new team leader of Beacon Community Church, a part-time role.
Daniel said: “For me it was a very spiritually significant day. My talk was all about Abraham and God re-establishing covenant with each other. I felt the same significance for the church at Bacton, God has always been there. He still is and still will be, but God is re-establishing his covenant once again with the church of Bacton.”

The service was well attended by over 80 people of all ages. Daniel gave his talk around a firepit in the garden behind the church. After this, a time of praise and worship in a full church – the old balcony was cleared to accommodate the numbers.
There were many guests from Lighthouse in Sheringham. The two churches have been linked in various ways for many years, sending Daniel being the latest in Kingdom partnership.
“I believe church is best represented as family. There are a couple of reasonable sized new housing estates being built around Bacton. There’s this thing going on called the Quiet Revival, in the last three or four years the numbers of young people believing in God has tripled. So God is clearly doing something in the nation and I would love to see that represented in Bacton.”
The service ended with a time of food and fellowship.
