Sheringham church hosts charity music festival

St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Sheringham is holding a free music festival later this month, and all are invited to pop in for a while or even stay all day.

There will be a wide genre of local musicians taking part throughout the day, and entertaining us with their brand of music and song from folk, Christian, popular, classical and shanties.
 
The inspiration for this community event came from Deacon Brenda Hayes, member at St Andrew’s, who says, “In the middle of a sleepless night, St Cecilia, the patron saint of music, pictured above, came into my head. When I discovered that St Cecilia’s saints day is Saturday 22 November, the prospect of an exciting community event began to take shape.”
 
Anyone can come for the whole festival or just pop in for part of the day.   Light refreshments will be served all day, with hot dogs (minimum charge £2) during the lunch break.   The event is free, but donations will go to Musical Keys, a Norwich-based charity who support young people of all abilities and people with dementia, through the medium of music.
 
The event will run from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 22 November.

St Andrews’  ‘It’s not yet Christmas Bazaar’ will take place on the previous Saturday, 15 November, from 10am to 12noon, with stalls, tombola, raffle, tea and coffee etc.  All proceeds will go to Action for Children.
