Enjoy Mozart and Handel at Southrepps church
Southrepps Chorale will be performing a winter concert at St James Church in Southrepps next month, which will include works by Mozart, Parry and Handel; and tickets are now available.
“A Ceremony of Light” will feature Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, which includes the exquisite Laudate Dominum. The concert will also include Mozart’s solo soprano piece Exsultate, Jubilate, together with the well-loved Zadok the Priest (Handel), and I was Glad (H. Parry), and songs by Susannah Self and Bob Chilcott from the Chorale.
Vijaya Fordington, from the Southrepps Chorale, said “The title of this wonderful, uplifting music, Solemn Vespers, composed for religious performance in Salzburg Cathedral, does not entirely convey its character, which is by turns exuberant and serene.”
The Chorale will be directed by Dr. Susannah Self, with Alexandra Bryant (soprano), Cathy Al-Bay (piano) and David Ballard (organ). Refreshments will be served at the end of the evening.
The concert will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Saturday 6 December, at St. James' Church, Clipped Hedge Lane, Southrepps, Norwich NR11 8NR.
Tickets are £15 each, with under 18's free. They will be available at the door or from www.ticketsource.co.uk (no booking fee). Or email: info@southreppschorale.org.uk
