Norwich church with small numbers but big vision
Cornerstone Church (Norwich) began in 2005 following a prophetic word about a ‘new thing’. We have been following the pattern God gave us ever since, seeking to daily live out the reality of what Jesus accomplished on the cross and at Pentecost, seeking the richness of life men and women of Bible times enjoyed, says pastor Richard George.
We reach out locally, regionally and around the world. We have each had many personal adventures, often profound and challenging, as we have stepped out in obedience and allowed Jesus to shape us. Few of us began as what the world might call ‘shakers and movers’ but are becoming fruitful disciples. Small associated groups are springing up, one in Germany, and elsewhere in the UK .
The church has become flexible and Spirit-led, focused on living out the truths of our identity in Christ, immersed in the existential reality of faith. We do not have any building or fixed meeting time, though we often gather midweek, and we are not driven by numbers. Our aim is simple: to seek first the Kingdom and let Jesus build his church.
We welcome prodigals, new believers and anyone hungry for God and called to walk with us. Our story is one of faith, obedience, and joy in following Jesus together—trusting him to meet all our needs.
Closely allied to The Way of the Spirit we regularly go to East Africa where The Way of the Spirit has its own Bible college reaching out to pastors from five different countries. We have an on-line ministry in DRC and see transformation in people in all these places as we teach the Bible in the power of the Holy Spirit.
