Sheringham St Andrew's worship space
Sheringham Methodists launch dementia group

`The Bridge` is a new monthly group for those living with dementia and their carers, which will meet at St Andrews Methodist Church in Sheringham.

The group will meet every first Monday of the month from 10.30am to 12noon, and the first meeting will take place on Monday 2 February in the recently refurbished worship space at the church. This will provide a calm, warm, space with room with activities for those who want to take part, but allow a quiet space for others.

There will be music, games, and puzzles, and refreshments will be served throughout the session. The first meeting will include a valentine craft activity. Grant funding has been secured, so there will be no charge to attend. If it is deemed that there is a need for a more frequent get-together, then ‘The Bridge’ may meet more regularly.

Jean Parton from St Andrews said, “The volunteers running the group have all received the necessary training and look forward to welcoming people from Sheringham and surrounding area.  We pray God’s blessing on this new vital venture for those who live with dementia and their carers. If you are affected in any way, do come along for some support and a little fun.”
