Prayers and reflections for creative writers
“Bless the Work of our Hands” is a new book by Jane Walters offering inspiration for creatives, and all are invited to the on-line book launch next month.
The book offers prayers, reflections and biblical character studies to encourage Christian creatives to commit themselves and their projects to God. Written for hobbyists and paid professionals alike, playing and working in every genre, it encourages an honest, open-handed and open-hearted approach, in order that all we produce and all we become from our creative toil may bring glory to God.
The book is described as a beautifully produced set of prayers and reflections concerning the creative process, whatever craft that relates to. If ever you have become stuck mid-project, or want to give thanks, or don’t know how to pray, this book is designed to help.
One of the book’s endorsers says this about it: "All creatives should have a copy of this beautiful book at their elbow! From fascinating character studies of biblical crafters to imaginative prayers pertaining to a truly mind-boggling range of creative disciplines, Jane Walters offers us an essential resource for everyone who, as she puts it, ‘work–plays’. Her exploration of the various stages, challenges and seasons of an artistic project left me feeling equipped, inspired and most of all, understood. What an inspiring gift for any writer, crafter or musician to be connected in prayer and imagination with our creator God."
The online book launch celebration is on Friday 20 February at 7.30pm, when the mood is expected to be buoyant. The author will share how and why she wrote and illustrated the book, and read extracts from it. There will be opportunity for attendees to show their own crafting creations, and to be prayed for from the book. Come and join the celebration, and share our love of partnering with our Creator God.
