Progressive Christianity Network welcomes new members
Over the past year a group of Christians have been meeting monthly in Norwich to share and discuss what it means to live out their faith in 2026.
Progressive Christianity Network (PCN) Norwich is part of The Progressive Christianity Network Britain, which works to promote and support open and contemporary Christian understanding of faith.
The Network recognises the value and significance of tradition and the scriptures in the shaping of Christian faith. But argues that faith must be relevant today. As an expression of the Christian life, PCN Norwich are building relationships among people in Norfolk and north Suffolk who:
-
Seek God, however understood, guided by the life and teachings of Jesus
-
Affirm that there are many ways to experience the Sacred and that we can draw on diverse sources of wisdom on our spiritual journeys.
-
Recognise that following Jesus leads us to act with compassion and to confront evil.
-
Place hospitality at the centre of our communal and worshipping life as an expression of our common humanity.
-
Seek to build communities that accept all who wish to share companionship without insisting on conformity.
-
Know that the way we behave towards others is the fullest expression of our faith.
-
Gain more insights in the search for understanding than we do in certainty.
-
Work together within and beyond the Church to achieve a just, peaceful and sustainable world.
They meet on the first Thursday of each month in the Emmaus Room, St Catherine’s Church Hall, Aylsham Road, Norwich NR3 2RJ (opposite Lidls) at 11.00 until 12.30.
PCN Norwich local organiser is Dr Lee Marsden who can be contacted at l.b.marsden01@gmail.com
