Volunteer chaplaincy training coming to W Norfolk
Norfolk-based Christian chaplaincy charity CCN will be holding free volunteer chaplaincy training in King’s Lynn this spring.
Community Chaplaincy Norfolk (CCN) is a Christian charity that trains and supports volunteers to mentor prison leavers of any faith or none.
Operations and Development Administrator Claire Gunn said: “Our base is in Norwich, but we cover the whole county so are looking to reach out to West Norfolk by running our training course in Kings Lynn in the spring.”
The training includes and introduction to CCN and the criminal justice system alongside topics like, safeguarding, anti-corruption, and communication skills.
“There is no obligation to become a mentor at the end of the course, that is a decision for the candidate and the mentor co-ordinator to make together.”
There is currently no date set for the training. Interested participants are encouraged to contact CCN and it can be scheduled based on demand and availability.
“We are also more than happy to visit churches and organisation to give a presentation about our work, which often includes a mentor and a client sharing about their own experiences,” said Claire.
