Join the Bishop of Norwich on summer pilgrimage
The Bishop of Norwich invites young adults of all denominations to join him for a week of prayer, Bible study, and relaxation in France this summer.
Young adults aged 18-35 living in the Diocese of Norwich are invited to join
Bishop Graham on pilgrimage to
Taizé in France from
July 18 to
July 27. The trip is open to young people from
all denominations and financial assistance is available.
Bishop Graham said: “Thanks to the generosity of the Anne French Memorial Trust I can offer places at greatly subsidised rates for participants of any denomination who live in Norfolk and Waveney. Further bursaries are available to those in need of extra support.”
Located in the countryside of France, Taizé is a place to join a community of prayer, worship, silence, reflection and joining with other young adults from around Europe and beyond to learn with each other.
The teaching of Taizé for 2026 will be centred on the theme, What are you looking for?. During the week, the group will gather for prayer three times a day using the familiar Taizé chants. Each person who comes will join a bible study group, receiving teaching from one of the many Brothers of the community and sharing with a group of diverse young adults.
“Being a pilgrim is about putting our trust in God as we seek to encounter him in the journey, in the conversations we have with the people we encounter, and in the particular spirit of the destination,” said Bishop Graham. “A pilgrim then returns home, and the homeward stretch is just as important. Sometimes it is only when we look back that we see how God has been shaping us on our journey like clay on a potter’s wheel. Join us on this exciting journey!”
