Every Mercy Ships volunteer plays a vital role 

Every volunteer with Christian charity Mercy Ships UK plays a vital role in bringing hope and healing to people without access to safe, affordable surgery — from providing medical care to the everyday support that keeps the hospital ships running.

Mercy Ships deploys hospital ships to serve some of the poorest nations in sub-Saharan Africa, with our ships remaining in country for several months at a time, bringing hope and healing to thousands of people.

Our two hospital ships are staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers who generously give their time and skills to serve those in desperate need of free, life-changing healthcare.

We continuously recruit volunteers for a wide range of roles that have varying time commitments from two weeks to two years.
