Can you help bring Passion Play to Norwich streets
Celebrate Norfolk is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to promote the message of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus on the streets of Norwich.
Celebrate will be co-ordinating a bid to bring well-known professional Christian theatre company Saltmine to perform a Passion Play at Easter 2021.
Saltmine produced and performed a Passion Play in Birmingham city centre in 2019, which attracted audiences of several thousand people.
Now a first play in Norwich on Easter Saturday 2021, alongside a return to Birmingham, is being actively explored and churches and individuals who share a vision to see this take place are being sought.

Rachael Orrell, Chief Executive of the Saltmine Trust, said: “Seeing people engaged and transfixed by the modern interpretation of Jesus’ story to the cross and resurrection is something I will never forget.”
Celebrate project director, John Betts, said: “A performance of the Passion of Jesus on the streets of Norwich for all to experience for free could have a big impact on our city in many ways.
“We hope this exciting project can include contributions from many Norwich churches, Christian ministries and individuals and we would be really pleased to talk to anyone who shares our vision for such an ambitious event.”
Rev Canon Madeline Light from St Stephens, who has hosted Saltmine several times in her church, said: “They are such a great bunch to work with and their involvement would bring a real professionalism and quality to a Norwich production.”
If you, your church, or ministry are interested in getting involved in the project, by taking part, helping with tasks on the day, praying or providing some of the finance which will be necessary, or ministering to people who are impacted by the message of the cross on the day, please contact the team at Celebrate Norfolk.
