Christians join together in Acle prayer walk

AclePrayerWalk2011: Christians from several denominations joined together to walk and pray their way around important locations in Acle, East Norfolk, on January 23.

The Acle Churches Together annual Prayer Walk was led by Methodist Minister Rev Heather Sorrell, Church of England Vicar Rev Martin Greenland and Roman Catholic Deacon Rev Peter Glanville.

The procession of mixed denominations assembled at St Edmunds Church for initial prayers then wended its way around Acle pausing to recite appropriate prayers at the Police Station, Barclays Bank, the Veterinary Surgery, the High School, the Cemetery, the Recreation Centre, the Health Centre, Herondale Nursing Home and finishing up for final prayers at the Methodist Church.

Participant, John Kenny, said: “It was an excellent example of Ecumenism at its best.”
