Holy fools jest around with S Norfolk churches

mrcustardFor their annual Open Air service this year the Bramerton group of churches have invited Jester Jim, one of the group known as Holy Fools, to their event on Sunday June 29.

Jester Jim and his clowning partner Hazy Daisie will be taking a major part in the service at 11:00 at Thurton Village Hall on Sunday 29th June.  The service is open to all – come and join the fun and worship, bring your own picnic lunch for after the service, and meet Jim and Daisie who will be staying around and want to meet you!

Holy Fools UK is a loosely connected group of around 50 Christians throughout the UK who see themselves as involved in the ministry of proclaiming God’s good news through their skills as entertainers, and based on 1 Corinthians 4:10 “We are fools for Christ”.

The Bramerton Group of Churches has for many years held one open air service each year, as a form of outreach.  Previous venues have seen worship taking place at various riverside locations, where we have occasionally been joined by boating holidaymakers.  Rather than just holding a service; the day has been extended by having a speaker, or by families bringing a picnic and games being operated.

The Group’s youth work, BYRUS (Bramerton Youth aRe US) has been active for a number of years, and their current youth worker, Ben Lawrence will be involved in the occasion and pleased to meet any young people who might like to know more about the gospel message or get involved in church.  Ben’s current projects include a Curry night and Community Café and along with the traditional youth club, he is now visiting local schools during lunchtimes, getting students playing games.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 29 June, with your picnic and chairs!
