Yarmouth church hosts Willow Creek Summit

Norwich Youth for Christ and Kingsgate Community Church in Great Yarmouth are partnering together once again to bring Willow Creek’s Global Leadership Summit to Norfolk in October.

Willow Creek’s Global Leadership Summit was founded in 1995 by Bill Hybels as an annual training event for church, ministry and other leaders to sharpen their skills.

On Friday and Saturday October 16-17, the video-cast event will be hosted in Great Yarmouth at the Kings Centre.

Each year across the US the event is telecast live from the campus of Willow Creek Community Church near Chicago, and then in the following months it is videocast in over 70 countries across the globe. Past speakers have included Bill Hybels, General Colin Powell, Bono and many other internationally renown trainers and communicators in leadership.

Confirmed speakers this year include Bill Hybels, Brian Houston, Ed Catmull, Sam Adeyemi, Sheila Heen, ALbert Tate, Horst Schulze, Dr Brene Brown, Liz Wiseman and Craig Groeschel.

Nick Blanch, Director of Norwich Youth for Christ said: “I’m so excited to see the Global Leadership Summit back in Norfolk. Without a doubt, it is one of the best resources out there to help develop leadership skills and has certainly been of huge benefit in my work, church and ministry roles.”

The Global Leadership Summit exists because leadership is central to church vitality.  With church effectiveness largely dependent on the character, devotion and skill of its leadership, which can be formal or informal; staff or volunteer; clergy or laity, the event seeks to give Christian leaders an injection of vision, skill development and inspiration.

Ian Savory, part of the Leadership Team of Kingsgate Community Church Great Yarmouth said: “Is leadership one of the most challenging issues for the UK? Without it, the nation falls around as someone with no head”.
