Norfolk Christian care home appoints pastor

IanMasson430Mid Norfolk Christian residential care home Eckling Grange has appointed a new pastor to lead its pastoral team and spiritual work.

Ian Masson, who is also part-time pastor to Saxlingham Nethergate Chapel, has been appointed by the trustees of Eckling Grange and will start work on February 3.
General manager, Stewart Barber, said: “Eckling Grange has been caring for the elderly, both physically and spiritually for 50 years but Ian’s appointment makes him the first ever employed pastor to the care charity. The role of pastor to Eckling Grange will increase the Christian care and pastoral support we can offer to all our residents, both in the home and the bungalows, their families and our staff.
“Ian has a strong background in pastoral care and is well known to Eckling Grange, so we look forward to working with him in this exciting new venture,” said Stewart.
Ian will continue his work at Saxlingham Nethergate Chapel alongside his new responsibilities at Eckling Grange.
“This is another successful appointment following advertising on the Network Norfolk website,” added Stewart. “We see the website as a good place to advertise the organisation and I’m very pleased to say that the recent advert for an account assistant also led to an appointment."
