Dereham churches throw a lifeline to shut-ins 

Churches in Dereham have united to provide emergency help to families and individuals who have been cut off by the coronavirus crisis.

In the first two weeks since its launch on March 25, the project helped 45 households by running 80 errands. 

Trusted volunteers from Dereham’s churches are willing call people back and have a chat if they want to hear a friendly voice. Or volunteers will also do a simple errand, whether going to shops or pharmacy, for example. 
 
The project is especially supporting people who are isolated at home and can’t get out.
 
Expressions of gratitude for the project have included:
 
“Thank you again to you and your volunteers for all the help you are providing.”
 
“I cannot tell you how much we appreciate what you are doing, it truly is a lifeline and means so very much in such anxious times.”
