Salvation Army to cheer on Norwich runners
Members of The Salvation Army’s Norwich Citadel will be joining the crowds at Run Norwich on Sunday September 7, bringing energy, encouragement and music to the thousands of runners taking part in the much-loved city centre 10k.
As part of the event, they will again be hosting a cheer station on William Booth Street, offering support not just to those running for charity but to every participant pushing themselves to cross the finish line. With the sound of the band, friendly faces, and plenty of clapping and cheering, the church and charity hopes to lift spirits along the route.
Martin Carr, volunteer coordinator, said: “Run Norwich is such a special day for our city, and we’re delighted to be part of it again this year. Our cheer station is all about encouragement – letting runners know that the whole community is behind them, every step of the way.”
Run Norwich is organised by the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation and attracts thousands of runners and spectators each year. For Norwich Citadel, taking part in the day reflects their ongoing mission to be a visible and positive presence in the local community.
Everyone is invited to come along, add their cheers and join in the atmosphere at Norwich Citadel’s cheer station on William Booth Street. Refreshments will also be available outside The Salvation Army on St Giles Street.
