Any Questions broadcast from Norwich Cathedral 

Politics and current affairs took centre stage at Norwich Cathedral on Friday March 6 when BBC Radio 4 broadcast its flagship political discussion programme Any Questions? live from the Cathedral’s nave.

The show was presented by Alex Forsyth and the evening’s panellists included:

• Former national security adviser and UK ambassador to the UN, Sir Mark Lyall Grant
• Treasury minister and Labour MP, Lucy Rigby
• Eleanor Shearer from the think tank Common Wealth
• Former Conservative cabinet minister, Sir John Whittingdale MP 

Audience members quizzed the panellists with questions about everything from the war in Iran, to whether the Government should encourage investment in the North Sea gas fields, the impact of artificial intelligence on youth employment and the financial challenges facing heritage buildings and the hospitality industry.
 
The Dean of Norwich, the Very Rev Dr Andrew Braddock, said: “We were delighted that the Cathedral could host lively, informed and topical debate as part of its wider role in civic life.”
 
Any Questions? was first broadcast in October 1948. Every week it visits a different part of the country with a panel of four speakers who answer questions from the audience, giving people the chance to challenge politicians, policy makers, writers and thinkers.
 
BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? was broadcast live from Norwich Cathedral at 8pm on Friday 6 March.
