Norwich vicar's Sprowston to Spalding move

Mary and John Bennett
2010: After nearly eight years as Vicar of Sprowston, John Bennett is moving to be Vicar of St Mary & St Nicolas and St Paul’s, Spalding. For the last five years he has also been Rural Dean of Norwich North.
He says, “I have enjoyed my time in Sprowston. It is a large and busy parish but I have worked with a good team of people here. I have appreciated the links that have been forged between the churches in this area.

"I am sorry that I shall not be here to see through “Heart for Sprowston”, our two year mission initative to show how the churches are at the heart of this community and the reasons why we have a heart for this place.
“Mary and I are looking forward to moving to Spalding. She grew up in Linconshire and she has family there. Our new parish has different challenges but there are many opportunities to share the gospel through a large church with many active members.”
John will start his new post on 25 March.

The Parish of Sprowston is now seeking a new vicar.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
