Christian youth camp on North Norfolk coast
2016: The Young People’s Bible Camp is once again taking place at Beeston Regis on the North Norfolk Coast, and there are still some places available if anyone wishes to join the fun. Tony Rothe reports.
Now in its 63rd year, the
Young Peoples Bible Camp takes place every summer at a beautiful cliff-top site between
Cromer and
Sheringham in Norfolk. There are several different camps catering for young people from age 10 upwards, and there are also reunions held throughout the year at different locations in
Norfolk and
Suffolk.
The summer camp is divided into four weeks;
Senior camp from
Saturday July 23 – Friday July 29 for
14-18 year olds. Come along to learn about the Christian faith and how it relates to your life, and have a great time making new friends and enjoying the activities.
Two
Junior camps for
10-13 year olds from
Saturday July 30 – Friday August 5 and
Saturday August 6 – Friday August 12.
A
Young Christians Camp from
Saturday August 13 - Friday August 19 for ages
15 to 25. This camp is aimed at young Christians and has more in-depth Bible study than the other camps, but there is of course still plenty of time to make new friends and enjoy the activities organised by the camp leaders.
The camps aim to cater for the spiritual and physical needs of young people. Emphasis is placed on bible teaching through talks, singing and activities appropriate for the different ages. Each camp leader is a committed Christian, who believes that the bible is relevant to the needs of young people today. They are responsible for the week's activity programme which could include indoor and outdoor games, swimming, comptitions and outings depending on the weather and age group.
The cost is between
£115 and
£135 per person for the week.
