New CD from Norwich’s Christian crossover soprano

Award winning crossover soprano Emma Nuule, who attends Norwich’s Alive Church and who previously won the Global Talent Contest ‘Sercos Got Talent’, has released a new album called ‘Songs to the Moon’.

Following a summer of sell out performances around Norfolk the award winning crossover soprano, Emma Nuule from Norwich has released her second CD called ‘Songs to the Moon’.

30-year old Emma, who attends Alive Church in Norwich, describes her new album as “a combination of well loved, well known arias and West End classics”.  Currently having private tuition from Marie Vassiliou, who also teaches at the Royal Acadamy of Music in London, the six pieces have been chosen to suit Emma’s ability to sing ‘spinto soprano’.

As a spinto soprano Emma is able to bring a wealth of emotion to her singing and specialises in dramatic climaxes showcased by pieces such as Bellini’s Casta Diva and Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro, the aria which launched her career when she performed it to win the Global Talent Competition ‘Serco’s Got Talent’ in 2014.

While Emma has taken the classical route in singing, she also has a passion for musical theatre, gospel and jazz, and the album reflects her ability to sing different styles.

The name of the album comes from Rusalka’s ‘Song to the Moon’ which is the title track and is appropriate as the album also features ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, a song that Emma has sung since performing at dance school growing up.

Emma said: “I knew I wanted to sing from a young age, but with me, my emotions are so big; I’m such a sensitive character, and early on in life this affected me being able to control my emotions and direction.

"I feel as my faith has grown I’ve come a lot closer to knowing what I feel God wants me to do and having confidence in my gifts.  I feel singing is my gift, to help other people, to touch them emotionally and eventually to teach”.

The album, Songs to the Moon, by Emma Nuule was released on Thursday, October 5 and is available to buy for £10 by contacting Emma at or you can purchase a copy from the Aladdin’s Cave shop on Magdalene Street in Norwich.

The winter edition of Good News for Norwich will feature a longer article about Emma Nuule’s career, vision and faith journey.
