Church news, events and tribute in West Norfolk
Churches Together in King’s Lynn has issued its latest e-news bulletin, containing details of future events, the Open Book team, Christian Aid and a tribute.
Churches in West Norfolk
raised £6348.82 during this year’s Christian Aid Week
through house-to-house collections, a special event on May 4, and tax-efficient giving. Jackie Austin
, local Christian Aid representative, thanks everyone who took part.
We recently heard the sad news that Tim Steer
has died. Tim was well-known around King’s Lynn, having been a teacher at King Edward VII School
for many years, a member of Seabank Chapel
, and a frequent supporter of joint church events. He was admired as much for his fortitude in the face of illness as he was for his friendly and outgoing manner. There will be a memorial service at 2pm on Monday July 8, at London Road Methodist Church
King’s Lynn FoodBank
is asking especially for fruit juice, 500g sugar bags, breakfast cereals, tinned fruit, and tinned fish. Volunteers are also requested for two collection days at Tesco’s, Hardwick Road, on Friday July 5 and Saturday July 6 between 10am and 4pm to hand out leaflets. Please contact Andy King on firstname.lastname@example.org
if you can help.
