New Moderator for Lynn Churches Together

Corin Child Dale GingrichChurches Together in King’s Lynn will have a new Moderator from Easter as Rev Dale Gingrich takes over from Rev Corin Child, who is moving to a new job in Norwich.

Rev Dale Gingrich, Team Vicar in the Gaywood Team, comes to the role of Moderator of Churches Together in Kings Lynn with plenty of experience working with other churches, being the Ecumenical Officer for the Diocese of Norwich, and already part of the Churches Together committee.

Dale is looking forward to his new role, and said: “I appreciate all the work that Corin has devoted to Churches Together in King's Lynn as moderator.  There is a real atmosphere of collegiality and respect among the churches in Lynn which he has fostered and maintained.  I look forward to serving as moderator for CTKL and working with churches from the town and surrounding communities.”

Rev Corin Child has been involved with Churches Together in King’s Lynn since he arrived as Vicar of St John’s Church seven years ago.

He said: “In a town like King’s Lynn, it makes a lot of difference when churches work together. We have been able to organise events involving speakers, election hustings, a much used foodbank, a youth club, Good Friday processions, and other things besides. It wouldn’t have possible for churches to do these things individually.”

From September, Corin will be taking up the role of Chaplain to Norwich School, which will involve leading assemblies and services, teaching, and joining in extra-curricular activities.

He said: “My current position already involves some chaplaincy work with the Air Cadets and the College of West Anglia.  I enjoy working with young people, and I’m looking forward to the new challenge of being a chaplain full-time.”
