European and US choirs at Norwich church

St Peter Mancroft Church in Norwich city centre welcomes choirs from Sweden, the Netherlands and the USA. 

roden girl choristersOn Friday May 1, 2015 the Girls’ Choir of Luleå Cathedral from our link Diocese of Luleå in northern Sweden will give an admission free lunchtime concert at 1pm.

On Monday May 18, 2015 the church will welcome the Camerata Singers of Bluffton Universtity, Ohio, USA. The Bluffton students are coming to Norwich as part of a cross-cultural experience to the UK with a view to worshipping with, and developing understanding of, various Christian denominations and groups. Bluffton University was founded in 1899 by the General Conference Mennonite Church, today known as Mennonite Church USA.  It is located in northwest Ohio, two hours south of Detroit, Michigan.
The choir will give an admission free concert at 6.30pm, entitled ‘Sing ye praises with understanding’. It will include music from a variety of faith groups and worship styles: gospel music, spirituals, music from the Shaker and the Iona Communities, and texts by important spiritual leaders like Menno Simons and Julian of Norwich.

On Sunday July 5, 2015 at 6.30pm the Roden Girl Choristers from the Netherlands will sing Choral Evensong at St Peter Mancroft.
