Vision for Celebrate King's Lynn is ignited

AlisonHill450Celebrate King's Lynn was ignited on Thursday October 8 at London Road Methodist Church, King's Lynn with a “Catch the Vision Evening”.

The first-ever Celebrate King’s Lynn festival will take place at The Walks in the town on Saturday June 11, 2016, and, according to co-organiser Alison Hill: “Aims to bless the people of King's Lynn, as well as giving churches the opportunity to showcase their projects and ministries; including Alpha, Christians against poverty, Food bank, Messy Church and many more.”
DavidBlacklock450The launch event was an evening of sharing the vision through a succession of speakers including an introduction by John Betts project director of Celebrate Norwich and Norfolk, to which Celebrate King’s Lynn is closely linked.
Alison Hill from the Celebrate King’s Lynn team went on to share the vision and plans for the event and retired Methodist minister, David Blacklock, outlined his past experiences of organising a similar festival.
A third member of the team is Olivia O’Neil who has been a detached Youth Manager in London and has organised similar types of festivals. Olivia will be working with Kevin Baldwin from Crowns Trust.
OliviaONeil450Claire Archer, youth leader from The Baptist Church, King's Lynn, said: “It was an inspiring meeting, especially seeing God’s direction in it all.”
Another attendee commented: “After what I’ve just heard, I’ve got to ask where is everybody. All of the churches need to be part of this event!”
For those people who have missed the opportunity to hear the vision and the plans there will be another meeting organised shortly. Please contact Alison at alisonhilluk@gmail.com if you would like further information and updates.
