Norfolk 90-year-olds help celebrate Queen's birthday
Sixty 90-year-olds celebrated the Queen’s birthday all together at an event at Norwich Anglican Cathedral on Sunday June 12.
Parishes across the Diocese of Norwich were asked to nominate a 90-year-old to attend a celebratory afternoon service at the cathedral which was led by the Bishop of Norwich and at which a large birthday cake was cut.
The service was also attended by the Lord Lieutenant and other civic leaders.
After the service, festivities moved to Upper Close Green where a picnic and family fun day had been arranged with music, children’s activities and refreshments.
Cathedral spokesman, James Shelton, said: “Luckily the weather cleared in time for the picnic in the park. It was great to recognise some people who were also celebrating their birthdays.”
