Norwich Foodbank issues 40 for 40 Lent challenge

Norwich Foodbank has issued a 40 for 40 challenge this Lent to enable it to continue to help support local families in crisis.

Project Manager Hannah Worsley, said: “With people struggling to afford food all over the UK, it is important that we can continue to support families in crisis through our network of foodbank distribution centres. They provide essential emergency food, emotional support and practical advice to people who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
“We are asking people to join us in taking small actions to transform lives by giving up 40 pence for the 40 days of Lent. With the addition of Gift Aid this comes to a total of £20.
“Or if you feel like challenging yourself to give something up during this period, why not donate the cost of what you save towards Norwich Foodbank?”

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which this year falls on March 1, and at the end of the 40 days, on April 13, people are asked to bank the money they’ve raised and donate it using the details on the form attached below.
