Retired Brundall vicar to cycle 200 miles
2017: Retired Brundall clergyman David Casson,75, is to cycle 200 miles of a 750 mile sponsored cycle ride starting on May 16, to raise funds for Release International and Christian Solidarity Worldwide, two charities which serve persecuted Christians.
Dubbed “From Wrath to Peace via Hope!” the bicycle pilgrimage is the idea of Rev Robert de Berry, who is also 75 this year, and wants to celebrate by riding ten miles for every year of his age!
Starting at Cape Wrath, the most north-westerly point of the UK, David will join a group of riders who will be publicising the needs of Christians who are suffering persecution in many countries of the world. They will stay with church members and speak at meetings on their way south, via Hope Valley in Derbyshire, to Peacehaven in Sussex.
The fifteen riders taking part hope to raise a total of £50,000, and several thousand pounds have already been donated by supporters and sponsors.
If you would like to sponsor David you can do this by donating to Release International at www.releaseinternational.com marking the gift for 'Bicycle Pilgrimage.' David and the other riders would also welcome your prayers.
