Africa with loveCFOpportunity to visit Christian project in Uganda in 2019

Africa Charity would like to invite Norfolk people who have skills to offer a project in Uganda to consider joining a trip next February.

The charity was founded by Norfolk Christian couple Rosemary and George Willard and every year teams from the UK visit the project. The charity works in Kyubira village near Masaka, they have built three schools for around 1000 children and a health centre.  Due to the increase in patients this year they have commenced building a larger health centre. Africa With Love is making a remarkable difference in the lives of young people, since the majority of children who have AIDS are unable to attend school in Uganda.

The visit is set for Wednesday February 6 until Thursday February 21, arriving back in Norwich early morning on Friday 22. Twelve people have already booked on but more are welcome to take part.

The invitation is open to everyone; if you do have any skills, in building or agriculture, medical and education, you will be much appreciated. However, Rosemary said, “Everyone is welcome. Even a hug and love shown makes the world of difference for children to know they are loved and cared for.”

A lot of work is currently underway with the development of new buildings,. The project has established a maternity department, which has saved the lives of many mothers and babies.  Rosemary said, “You can teach in the classes, we have a special free medical day and a special food distribution day for the elderly (Jajjas)... lots to do.  Come and be blessed!”

If you would like to join us please contact Elizabeth Lansdowne at  africacharity@hotmail.co.uk  for further details. The cost per person is £1,800, which is fully inclusive except for evening dinner.

The booking and payment of the flight needs to be done by the end of September and the balance can be paid in January.

The group will depart from Norwich Airport to Amsterdam and then on to Entebbe, Uganda.  All visitors are required to hold a valid CRB check.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
