Jill prays for justice, peace and wisdom
Jill Gower, Director of the Call to Prayer ministry, offers some words for us to pray with in these times of turmoil.
For justice and peace
Father God, we see so much unrest in the world: anger, the effects of Covid-19, unemployment, racism, lives falling apart and so much turmoil. We cry out as King Jehoshaphat did, “Lord, we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are fixed on You.”
We declare that You are the God who brings order out of chaos. Send Your Holy Spirit and bring the wind of change throughout our world, turning people back to the One and Only true God.
Lord, we ask You to move powerfully and out of this to bring something amazing for Your Kingdom. We ask angels on assignment to help us, to see a godly order established.
We cry out to You for those who are suffering, for justice and peace, that in Your great mercy You will show Your loving kindness.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Lord, we declare You did not give us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. We declare that Your perfect love drives out fear.
We pray that the people of this area and the nation will not let fear dominate them, but will be strong and very courageous. We pray that they will also be wise. We ask You to release a spirit of wisdom to be poured out over us all, and the ability to sensibly cope with the latest ease of lockdown.
We pray that there will be respect for others, and for our wonderful beauty spots.
We bless those making important decisions with wisdom, the wisdom from above. We bless our Nation with peace, love and joy in Holy Spirit. May the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord blow afresh through our land.
Amen and Amen.
Please pray especially for Kings Lynn night shelter as it adapts its work in a fast-changing context
