Norwich’s Alex sings when the world goes quiet
A young musician linked with St Barnabas church in Norwich has released a song capturing some of the emotions around the Covid-19 pandemic.
Alex has posted her new composition, ‘When the world goes quiet’, on her Youtube channel.
She has lived on and off in Norfolk for 27 years. When in Norwich she goes to St Barnabas and has also led worship there.
Since the middle of March she has been living at her parents’ home and felt led to release the new song even though she was going to be releasing more electro pop songs.
“All my lyrics, even though they are not overtly Christian, point to the author of life and love,” said Alex.
“Amazingly, I have had many people reach out to me since I released the song, asking me questions about God. I am passionate about translating Jesus in a way that people understand and not putting them off by Christian lingo.”

All proceeds from ‘When the world goes quiet’ will go to Equal Justice Initiative (www.Eji.org).
Alex also wrote a song at the end of May in response to the murder of George Floyd, called "I can't breathe." She wrote and recorded it on the same day and hasn’t been able to bring herself to rerecord a better-quality version as it is still so raw.
