Retro flower festival weekend in Norwich church

A church in Norwich is hosting a retro-themed flower festival next month, with proceeds going to important building works.

St Andrew’s Church, Trowse will be full of beautiful flower arrangements alongside items from bygone eras over the weekend of November 7-9

Sarah Toothill from the church said: “We hope to brighten up a grey time of year with beautiful flowers and displays including clockwork trains, household items, toys, clothes and tools to stir the memory and start conversations. Entry is free with donations welcome as we are raising funds for a better heating system and an inside toilet.”

The church will be open from 10am to 3pm on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th, and open 12noon to 3pm on Sunday 9th.

Mary said: "I think this will be a Flower Festival with a difference - it's so unusual to have one at this time of year. I'm anticipating sharing a lot of childhood memories with friends, and other visitors."

Janet and Malcolm were married in St Andrew’s Church in 1971 and will be displaying her wedding dress as part of the exhibition.

Donations and proceeds from refreshments will go towards the updated heating and new toilet project.
