Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in Norwich

Quaker, Anglican, URC, Evangelical and Peace Catalyst traditions come together to host celebrations for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in Norwich.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (WPCU) is an annual ecumenical observance where Christians of diverse traditions pray and worship together for the visible unity of the church. It runs from Sunday, January 18 to Sunday, January 25, 2026. This period is known as the "octave" of St. Peter and St. Paul.

The theme for 2026 is One Body, One Spirit based on Ephesians 4:4"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling". The theme emphasises that the call to unity is also a call to work for global peace.

In Norwich, Peace Catalyst and Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney have partnered with St Lukes church and other churches to create a schedule of seven services and meetings to celebrate the WPCU across the city.

We are really excited about these 7 possibilities in Norwich for Christians of all traditions to come together as brothers and sisters in Christ. As part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, they represent a wonderful opportunity to deepen relationships, pray with one another, and witness to the unity Christ desires for His people across our great city.

We invite Christians from all churches to come and support any (or all) of the events in the schedule.   You will be warmly welcomed and there is no need to book a place in advance, other than for the Connect Norwich meeting on the 21st January. If you do want to attend this specific event, and to book a place for lunch and the meeting, contact Keith Morris at keith.morris@networknorwich.co.uk.
