Healing conference held for Norfolk churches
A healing ministry conference was held in Gorleston with well-known preacher and author Rev Peter Lawrence, organised by Bradwell and Gorleston Churches Together.
The Conference, on Saturday June 9, was held at the Baptist Church in Gorleston High Street from 10am until 4pm. In the evening there was a Celebration from 7pm held in St Andrew’s Church, Gorleston, followed by a time of ministry.
The subject of the day was Exercising a Healing Ministry in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
It was led by Rev Peter Lawrence, who is currently Rector of Canford Magna and a small group of parishes close to Poole in Dorset.
Peter was challenged at a John Wimber conference in the 1980s and was called by God into exercising a healing ministry relying on the person and power of the Holy Spirit.
He has written a number of books on his experiences including: The Hot Line, Doing what comes Supernaturally and The Spirit who Heals.
Conference organiser, Rev Dan Waite, said: “Peter will bring us an inspiring blend of Bible teaching and powerful testimony delivered with humility and humour.
“Peter comes to remind us that healing is an important part of the church’s life today as it was in the early church. Healing springs from the activity of the Holy Spirit. Jesus healed that way, so did the first Christians, so do we need to. Healing is not a technique, it is reliance upon God, listening and praying and acting in his strength.”
