Lawyer in Norwich tells of greatest discovery
2011: Peter Spreckley
, an outwardly successful lawyer and a pillar of his local community but whose family life was falling apart until he made “the greatest of all discoveries – the reality of God’s love,” shared his moving story at a Norwich
dinner at the Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe
, on Friday, May 13
Despite a comfortable home, Peter and his wife, Mary, had been on the verge of divorce, but so great was the transformation in Peter’s life that their family life was saved “and enriched beyond words.”
Today, Peter’s dynamic faith has taken him to four continents as the UK chairman of the world’s largest fellowship of Christian business men, the FGBMFI.
Surprisingly, Peter had once been "a bored church-goer who had no idea if God really existed,” until he stumbled across a paperback book of Christian testimonies in a local library. This in turn caused him to search the Bible for himself – until then, it had been a closed book.
In his subsequent journey of faith, Peter “has seen miracles of healing, both in the Men’s Fellowship and the church.”
Peter will speak at the FGBMFI monthly dinner at the newly-refurbished Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe, on May 13 at 7 for 7.30pm. The cost of is £10 and all are welcome.
This dinner is one of a series of monthly events organised by the Norwich Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship. The international fellowship has 8,000 local chapters spread across 160 countries.
