Churches to give out support packs to families

harvest donationsDownham and District Churches Together are working in partnership with local organisations to give a helping hand to families in need this Christmas.
The churches will be preparing Family Support Packs, which will include essential foodstuffs as well as some Christmas treats, such as mince pies and children's selection boxes.
Once the packs have been made up, they will be handed over to local support agencies, who will pass them on to the families who could most benefit from them.
Tesco have made a £10 donation and will also have a collection point in their Downham store where shoppers can leave donations of food for the packs.
Morrisons, the other supermarket in the town, have agreed to make a donation of food items.
In addition to Tesco, donations of food can be dropped off at the Sovereign Centre, on Downham’s Trafalgar Industrial Estate.
Financial donations would also be very welcome (it is estimated that each pack will be worth £25), and these can be made at the Sovereign Centre or posted to the Sovereign Centre, Sovereign Way, Downham Market, Norfolk, PE38 9SW. Cheques should be made payable to “Downham Market Christian Fellowship”.
