Carrow Road date for Norwich charity 

OutsideTheWireLogo336Lady Pippa Dannatt, Norfolk’s High Sheriff, is to meet with staff and users of the Matthew Project’s ‘Outside The Wire’ service at a special football match this Thursday at Norwich City’s Carrow Road stadium thanks to Aviva.

June 5, the start of Recovery Month, sees the first combination football match for the new Outside The Wire service offered by the Matthew Project. Players will be from a veteran and serving Forces background including family members and also Matthew Project staff.
The match is designed to highlight and improve awareness of the new OTW service operating in and around Norfolk. Aviva have very kindly offered the use of the Carrow Road football pitch, the home of Norwich City Football Club, for the event.
Outside The Wire’ is a bespoke alcohol and drug service offering confidential advice and support to current and ex HM Forces personnel and their families across Norfolk. 
Andy Wicks, manager of the project, said: "This is a fabulous opportunity to raise awareness of this much-needed and used service. I hope this will also attract funding to enable us to reach further afield. We are continually looking for sponsors for events and also fundraising for the service itself.  The service has already been immensely beneficial for a number of people and is growing from strength to strength.”
Last year armed forces families champion Lady Dannatt from Keswick near Norwich was made an MBE for voluntary service to armed forces charity the Soldiers’, Sailors’ and Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA), and is married to Lord Richard Dannatt, former head of the British Army.
