Dragon adventures in Aylsham church
2015: Over 250 children and adults enjoyed a Dragon Adventure at Aylsham Parish church over half term.
The activity day, which was organised by Catherine Beane from the church, was designed to celebrate heritage, culture, arts & faith.
Activities included: Dragon puppets, hatching dragon eggs, knights’ shields, Princess Tales in the tower with a real Princess, making quills & manuscripts, a knight's quest, and princess dolls.
"We love to open our church to the community for these creative family days which we run several times during the year” said Revd Andrew Beane, vicar of Aylsham. “This half term we celebrated our culture and heritage with a fun dragons, princesses and knights event full of crafts, activities and games for all ages.
“Our Norfolk Churches are wonderful places to explore history and the arts; you only need to look around the walls to see the amazing medieval craftsmanship. Church buildings are living history and have been at the heart of English culture for 1000 years. It was wonderful to see so many young craftsmen and (women) at our Activity Day exploring art, making their mark, and enjoying the life of Aylsham Parish Church."
