Broadland church goes rock and pop 

Yare Valley Churches is organising a Rock and Pop Auction and Record Fair on November 16 to raise money for the church in Brundall.

This entry-free fundraising event is in aid of re-ordering work planned for St Laurence Church, Brundall. The event, which will be in two parts, will be staged in the village Memorial Hall on Saturday 16th November. Music fans will be able to purchase in the first part (between
4pm and 7pm), LP vinyls including by Elvis, The Beatles, Abba, The Nice, ELP, Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Santana, Eric Clapton, Wings, Dire Straights, Duran Duran, ELO and Cat Stevens. Also during this time there will be the chance to buy singles including by The Beatles, T Rex and The Rolling Stones and a varied selection of CDs and books. Book collectors will then have the opportunity to purchase works featuring (amongst others) the lives of Elvis, Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, plus a wide range of vinyls including by Country and Western Artists Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash and Billy Jo Spiers.

There are also Jazz and Easy Listening vinyls including by Oscar Petersen, Nat King Cole and Barbara Streisand and Musicals including Evita, Oliver and Phantom of the Opera. Folk, Operatic and Classical Music vinyls which will also be available. The second part of the event starts at 7pm when there will be an Auction (until 9pm) of a varied selection of interesting and collectable items, to include LPs by The Loving Spoonful, Bowie, The Eagles, Spirit, Idle Race, Led Zeppelin, The Supremes, The Move,Queen Killers “Live”, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and James Brown.

There are also collectable books featuring (amongst others) the lives of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, Kate Bush, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Kurt Cobain, along with a signed book from Pete Townshend of The Who. The Auction Lots include 2019 Concert Tee Shirts/Programmes from Eric Clapton, King Crimson, 10CC and The Eagles Concerts, also a signed CD from a 10CC Concert, Midge Ure signed Ultravox Records, an Eagles Concert Poster plus signed/framed posters from Barclay James Harvest and Steve Hackett (ex Genesis). There are also large unsigned posters of Freddie Mercury and Johnny Cash and some Auction surprises.
