South Norfolk church invites nominations for gifts
Hope Church in South Norfolk has launched its popular Love Gives campaign, ready to bring some extra cheer to the community this Christmas.
The church, which normally meets at venues in Diss and Harleston, is seeking nominations from the community for anyone who needs an extra boost after the difficulties of 2020.
Anyone can nominate a friend, family member, community hero or key worker to receive a beautiful gift hamper just in time for Christmas, all funded through the kind donations of the church congregation. This year, those making a nomination can choose between a pamper hamper, family hamper, food hamper, experience day or local restaurant voucher.
One recipient of last year’s gifts sent a message to the church saying: “I just wanted to say a big thank you for the amazing hamper and flowers. It was a lovely surprise and so humbling to think that someone had nominated me (don’t know who yet!). Thank you so much for your kindness.”
Another said: “Thank you for the Christmas surprise box and presents you delivered to my mum. She eventually worked out it was me, but she loved the gifts! Thank you again for doing this, it meant a lot to me too.”
Organiser Hannah Playford said: “We just love doing this campaign every year. Delivering the gifts is genuinely one of the highlights of my Christmas! It’s a wonderful way to bring some joy into someone’s life and that surprise element makes it even more special. This year, of all years, when we’ve all faced some level of hardship, absolutely everyone will know someone who really has been through the mill. Get nominating and help us show them some love this Christmas time.”
All nominations are anonymous and confidential. Nominations will be taken until November 30 and gifts will be delivered between December 14 and 23. You can also choose to donate funds to enable the church to bless even more people with gifts this year. To nominate or donate please visit www.wearehopechurchlovegives.net. Please note that not everyone nominated will necessarily receive a gift.
