Emma takes over faith show on Radio Norfolk

BBC Radio Norfolk’s Sunday Breakfast show will have a new presenter from Sunday November 7, exploring faith across the county.

Taking over from Louise Priest will be Emma Philpotts (right) who is also Station Sound Producer and has worked on several commercial radio stations across Norfolk.

Emma, who is an active member at Oak Grove Chapel in Norwich, and has done everything from youth work to making banner for the church building, said: “I am very excited to take on this new opportunity to explore faith in Norfolk. I will be looking at faith from a local perspective, but also seeing how national faith issues will affect us in the county.

“I am very interested to know about events that are happening around the county that revolve around faith - it could be an exciting speaker or conference that will be taking place, or a new initiative , project or charity that has a faith perspective. If it's happening in Norfolk, I want to hear about it.”

“I've lived in Norfolk most of my life, so I love the county and its people. I started working in radio at the age of 13 at Coast to County Hospital Radio in Cromer, and pursued my career through education, which lead me to completing a degree at the University of Sunderland in Media Production.

“Once I had completed my degree, I came back to work in Norfolk at various commercial radio stations as a presenter, and working behind the scenes in station sound and production. I came to the BBC in 2008, where I have been working as the Station Sound Producer. You can also hear me reading the showbiz news every weekday afternoon just after 3pm with Stephen Bumfrey.”

You can hear the show every Sunday morning from 6 - 9am on BBC Radio Norfolk (95.1 / 104.4FM / DAB) or online at www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk  or if you miss it you can always listen again on the iplayer: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer

If you have a faith-based news item or event, you can contact Emma at emma.philpotts@bbc.co.uk  or ring 01603 284 788.

Do you appreciate our service and stories?

The Network Norwich & Norfolk website has been published for over 13 years now and we have an established team of professional journalists covering the activities, organisations and churches which make up the county’s Christian community. Our whole purpose is to support that community by daily providing accurate, unbiased stories and features.

To pay for that service, we rely on our partner organisations, advertisers and readers to, in turn, support us financially. We want to keep the website free for everyone to access and continue to be able to pay for writers to produce the content you can enjoy every day.

We would like to ask you to consider supporting our work and suggest you might want to make a small regular donation of just £1 a week and become one of our 100 Friends, or a larger one-off or annual amount.

Because we are part of a registered charity we can reclaim Gift Aid on your donations if you are a tax-payer.
