Prayer heals Norwich student from seizures

BekkiSouthNorwich student, Bekki South, 18, was having dozens of seizures a day, until she was prayed for in a meeting at City Church Norwich. Here Bekki (right) tells her miraculous story.
In February 2010, I started to have seizures that increased to around 19 a day. I needed constant supervision and I couldn’t go to college or go out without someone being with me. I was put on to a high dose of medication but even with it, I was still having up to five seizures a day.

By October, the doctor told me that I may have to live like this for the rest of my life. I wasn’t living - I was just existing. I think that was the wake-up call I needed because I started really praying to God to help me.

On Sunday October 10, I was having seizure after seizure. After the preaching our pastor called people forward for prayer. At the time I was still recovering from a seizure so I was helped to walk to the front.

During the time that I was being prayed for, I was still recovering from the seizure. Inside I was crying out to God for help because I couldn’t speak due to the seizure. When I had recovered I felt so different, my brain felt really strange but it was a great feeling that something was happening, that God was healing me. I told my mum and she said hold on to that thought, it will help you to claim your healing.

Since then I have not had a seizure. For some time the enemy tried to tell me that I hadn’t been healed and I had to stand firm on what God has done for me, telling those thoughts and feelings to go in Jesus’ name.

Now I have my life back. I am back in college and enjoying life again.

Two Bible verses that mean a lot to me are: John 10:10 - The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come that you may have life in all it’s fullness.’ The enemy certainly tried to do that, but I am more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens me. Eph 6:10-17 -Put on the full armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil...and having done all, to stand.’

I’ve learned, when God heals you don’t let the negative thoughts or symptoms rob you of your healing. Throughout all the bad times, I knew people were praying for me and the prayers were keeping me strong in God. What Satan meant for to destroy me, God has turned around for good! My faith and relationship with God has grown because of this experience. God is good.”
City Church Norwich is continuing to host monthly revival meetings, called Encounter, particularly looking to God to heal the sick and for the power of God to be poured out on His people.

The next event takes place onSunday March 6, 6.30 for 7pm, at the Ramada Hotel, 121-131 Boundary Road, Norwich, NR3 2BA.
